About Star Attack '78
The firing action is a flick rather than a button — you pull back and let go, which makes rhythm matter as much as aim. The ranks keep coming down, and there is only ever one shooter between them and you.

Controls
- · Drag left and right to aim your shooter.
- · Tap the screen to fire.
Rules & scoring
- · Each target destroyed scores points; clearing a wave moves you to a faster one.
- · You have three lives — being hit or letting the enemy through costs one.
Tips
- · Lead moving targets slightly.
- · Clear the edges first so the wave has nowhere to hide.

Spring-loaded shooters were the noisiest thing in any pocket, and the alien-invasion theme of the late seventies made them irresistible.
